If you set the Kodi UI to run at 1080p/50Hz, does that give you black borders?

Ahh thanks this was the solution! I did not even realize the video calibration is different for 50 and 60 Hz. And my UI was set to 60 Hz. When I set it to 50 Hz it had the same black borders as the 1080p content. After calibrating that back to 0, everything looks great now.
Now just to replace my HDMI cable for a good quality one and I should be all set!
It’s held separately for each combination of output resolution and refresh rate, I think - but hopefully you haven’t adjusted it for any other mode!
Anyway, glad things are moving in a positive direction.
