June update cannot now play M2TS files

Updated yesterday now won’t play any M2TS file, all other formats ISO/ BDMV/ MKV play fine as before update …anybody else suffering this issue.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

We need full debug logs.

can you access this from the link I have been sent as the logs go on forever…

Please follow @Tom_Doyle’s instructions, as these are not debug-enabled logs.

I have enabled debug-enabled logs and followed his instructions and through terminal it gives me this link:

what am I doing wrong?

I played a few files, only BDMV worked, M2TS files failed to play.

before update no issues playing any files

Can you set settings>services>SMB client> to v3 for both min and max and try again. If all your files stop playing after that either enable SMBv3 in your NAS or enable the “mitigate MTU issues with SMBv2” option in the same section.

Brilliant…The mitigate issues with SMBv2 tick box fixed whatever the issue was.

Thanks for the very fast support.

Great. Please note that enabling the mitigation option does come with a network performance penalty so if you would like to avoid that you would need to either configure your NAS to SMBv3 or alternatively you could switch over to using system mounts which should give the best performance.
