Lag while in Kodi

As hyperion is causing thousands (over 5K!) of errors, it makes the logs difficult to read. I’d suggest removing it to clean up the logs. Then maybe the other problem will become more obvious.

I also wonder just what this is coming from:

Dec 15 14:56:28 osmc sshd[3145]: Unable to negotiate with 115.238.245.2 port 38460: no matching key exchange method found. Their offer: diffie-hellman-group14-sha1,diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha1,diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 [preauth]

The log also has many of those. Do you have a VPN setup?

So you are comparing the Vero with an i7 and an AMD A10?

No I was asked what they are running on. Did you read my original post?

@bmillham I disabled it and I will reboot and create another log. No I do not have a VPN.

If do not have a VPN, then those lines in the log are troubling. Do you have port 22 open in your firewall? I hope that you have changed your osmc password!

I did at one time. It is no longer.

Just for clarification, my update movie database took 23 minutes.

I suspect that your system was compromised when you had port 22 open. A random sampling of IPs has them located in China. If port 22 is closed now then they should not be accessing your system, but they are reaching it.

I’d backup .kodi and re-install.

Did this lag start around the same time that you opened port 22

They got in. Now a reinstall is required as you’ve already be compromised… :frowning:

to be honest i don’t remember when i opened the port. I will try that tomorrow. Thank you

Ok reloaded from scratch, just installed my advanced settings file to read my db, 21 minutes to update.

Are you planning on sharing logs, or just tell us it didn’t work???

I wanted more than 10 minutes of logs for you. Will upload in 5

19:18:53.989 T:4077888080 ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting nfs://192.168.1.130/media/shane/media/

19:18:56.001 T:4077888080 ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting nfs://192.168.1.130/media/shane/media/
19:18:56.001 T:4077888080   ERROR: CGUIDialogFileBrowser::GetDirectory(nfs://192.168.1.130/media/shane/media/) failed

These errors show problems accessing your shares.

But in the log you provided, I see no attempt to do a scan. And it’s not a debug log.

Those are my paths, I just double checked them I am doing an update now so when it’s done in 20 I will upload another

I just did a test. I have a 4K and Pi2 that had a shared MySQL database hosted on the 4K.

I updated the 4K to Kodi V18, but hadn’t kept the Pi2 updated.

The first update took 31 minutes. 100 new videos were added to the library. I have very slow satellite internet, and the Pi is connected via powerline.

I then ran the test again with 1 new video added and it took 2m54s to do the scan.

Running the scan again took 2m27s.

Library info:

Albums : 4167
Artists : 5236
Songs : 47853
Movies : 1051
MovieSets : 218
TVShows : 266
Episodes : 13121
MusicVideos: 720

As you can see, it’s a large library.

How long does it take to run a scan if you have not added any new content?

Here you go. I only have movies and TV. Used to take 2 mins with nothing new and maybe 5 with a couple new items.

Those logs are useless as they show only about 2 minutes of Kodi activity. And no scanning.

And are not debug enabled

Now I am confused. They are enabled and it’s been on for 40 minutes now. I will just try again tomorrow.

Thank you for your efforts.
