Bought my Vero 4k a while back but only now had the chance to set it up. I think I am a similar issue as seen in the thread below:
For reference my setup is as follows.
TV: Samsung UE55HU8500
Soundbar: Phillips HTL9100
The Vero 4k is connected to HDMI 2 on the TV and connected to the sound bar via SPDIF. The TV is connected to the soundbar through HDMI ARC.
The soundbar has detachable rear speakers for a sort of surround sound and is capable of decoding Dobly Digital and DTS 5.1 audio.
I’ve uploaded screenshots of my audio settings for reference, although I have tried various things and not had much luck.
If I have the number of channels set to 2.0 things seem to work ok, however I don’t seem to get anything out of the subwoofer. If I have the number of channels set to 5.1 then I can’t hear any dialogue, just background noises.
Output from this command:
cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/aud_cap
Gives me this:
PCM, 2 ch, 32/44.1/48 kHz, 16/20/24 bit
Which is what I think the HDMI is reporting - and is probably correct as the TV is unable to support HDMI audio passthrough.
Output from this command:
cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/rawedid
Gives me this:
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
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be the issue and what the correct settings should be for me?
