I guess the difference between Vero and the HifiBerry Digi+ is that Vero is reading the HDMI properties and using them for SPDIF output as well, while HifiBerry is a seperate device.

Yes, that’s correct.

Late here as well, but some thoughts:

• Try setting channels to Fixed, not Optimized.

Otherwise we can look in to allowing you to force either an EDID or specific audio settings.
