Hi guys,
Was currently on the October update, thought I’d run a manual update and see if there was any updates through the My OSMC manual update check.
It downloaded an update and successfully installed without interruption or errors.
After rebooting Into my Aeon MQ8 skin, I’m seeing ‘OSMC failed to start’.
I’ve tried starting the program manually through the menu but it just won’t start.
The system also fails to play any type of content.
Any suggestions or guides for a complete newbie? Note: anything involving terminal or command line I’ll need basic easy to follow instructions
You’re running the experimental repository for advanced users.
We made changes to My OSMC that aren’t ready for prime time yet. This is expected behaviour.
If you want stability, it’s best not to use the buster-devel repository.
I think this must be a really old setting, as I’ve not changed the repository for a very long time.
Million dollar question, anyway of (easily) going back, and can you point me in the right direction of the stable channel?
It’s not a setting and can only be configured via the command line.
You’d want to edit /etc/apt/sources.list and remove that buster-devel line.
For now, you can fix My OSMC add-on by running: sudo apt-get install --reinstall mediacenter-addon-osmc=3.0.689
