Amazing work team! Just tested it with Dune 2 and as expected it looks fantastic.

Installed the update and tried some DV content on my Vero V… Should the TV indicate there’s DV playing? I only get HDR indication on my Sony Bravia… The system info reports supported hdr types: hdr10, hlg, dolby vision (LL only). Thanks

Yes, you should see a Dolby Vision logo for a few seconds.

Some logs might give us an idea as to what’s going on.

No. LL only means we don’t support it.

Updated this morning and tested out the new OSMC DV support on my Sony A95L (setting ‘Dolby Vision Bright’ as it’s during the day), via my Denon AVR-X1800H, and it’s in one word breathtaking.

OSMC Team & Testers, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your incredible work. You all knocked it out of the park!

Which Bravia do you have? I’ve got an X90L and have been using Dolby Vision since the testing started with no problems. It seems odd to me (although maybe it shouldn’t) that Sony would have some Bravia’s that only do player led DV and others that do TV led DV.

I have X950G…

Nice to see the fresh disk images for Vero 4k+ also, despite the announcement. :+1:
“Vero 4K / 4K + devices will not get further OSMC updates beyond the October 2024 update”

Thank you!

EDIT: Unfortunately it says “404 Not Found”. :frowning:
EDIT: Fixed. Thank you!

For a double check, please connect via ssh and post what you get from cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/rawedid

The story goes Sony was unable to support ‘full fat’ DV at first and cooked up LLDV with Dolby. You would think a 2019 model came after that fudge, but maybe TV manufacturers save a few pennies by not supporting Standard DV on HDMI. Panasonic also have some LLDV-only models. Regrettably, it seems impossible to find out what is supported before you buy.

I am really amazed by the quality of work you are providing! Thank You very much!

The disk images will be available shortly. I need to fix something first.

Thank you for this.

Has anyone noticed a lag at the end of videos being played when they end and before you get back to the browsing interface?

How long? And what is displayed? Black screen?

Could be the refresh rate changing back to the UI refresh rate when a video ends. Some devices like projectors can be quite slow at adjusting the refresh rate.

Should be resolved now.

Cheers

Sam

Will there be raspberry pi 5 support? I’m still waiting for that. I have a Vero V, but I prefer a raspberry pi for vacations. So I hope there will be raspberry pi 5 support in the future.

Yours sincerely,
Laurens

Thanks a lot! This update rocks.

Hi All,

I installed the update last night, and am still only being shown HDR (PQ) or HDR10+ flags on my TV when playing remuxes and/or WEB-DL’s that are confirmed Dolby Vision rendered.

My setup is Vero V > Samsung Q930D Atmos soundbar (which has been confirmed to passthrough all HDR formats including DV) to my (admittedly older but still very much DV-supporting screen, as confirmed by running UHD Netflix), a Panasonic TX50GX820B. All my cabling is also 2.1/DV-compatible.

For completeness, I also tried removing the soundbar from the equation and plugging the V directly into the TV. Same deal… HDR/PQ etc. but no DV flag. Atmos flag does show for any Atmos content, for the record.

Any ideas?

It’s still in the works.
