Edit:
When I try to upload of logs I received:
osmc@osmc:~$ grab-logs -A
tvservice-client: Failed to download CEA cache in [vc_tv_hdmi_get_supported_modes_new]
Edit2:
After few enters and CTRL+C I received:
https://paste.osmc.tv/omudopesud
MOD EDIT: Please don’t use blockquote for pasting terminal output. Using </>
preformatted text ensures proper formatting.
I think your problem might be unrelated. You’re running a Pi3B and most of the problems seem to be on Pi1Bs and a few Pi2Bs. Also, your CPU figures are, strangely, very low.
You’re overclocking some aspects of your Pi3, including the SD card:
gpu_freq=500
over_voltage=2
sdram_freq=580
over_voltage_sdram=5
sdram_schmoo=0x02000020
dtparam=sd_overclock=100
I suggest you comment these out and see if the issue persists after a reboot.
I think it is related. On previous freezing I had also high CPU usage, but it was possible stop the movie. In last case the Kodi not responding for stop movie command - maybe not working and it is reason for low CPU figures.
Overclocking of Pi is some tested config setting for HEVC by Millhouse on Pi3B+:
I´m using this also for Pi2 and it is working much better then without overclocking.
Part of these settings is depend the Popcornmix recommendation:
Jan
You’re free to continue with the overclocks but it doesn’t take much to disable them and see if it helps.
You’re on a Pi3B, not the plus version, and theMilhouse post was referring to a Pi3B+.
The second quote contains the line:
It’s an overclock, so not guaranteed to work on all Pi’s, but it works on a reasonable number
I Known, but I used the Popcornmix version since Jul 17 and Milhouse version since Aug 18 without big problems on Pi2, Pi3 and Pi3B+ also.
My problems was mainly with TV Headend.
Now I reverted to previous kernel and freezing is gone.

Hi
Hopefully the issue is now addressed
I’d appreciate it if you could test this and provide feedback before we potentially release this as an update to other users. To test this update:
- Login via the command line
- Edit the file
/etc/apt/sources.list
- Add the following line:
deb http://apt.osmc.tv stretch-devel main
- Run the following commands to update:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && reboot
- Your system should have have received the update.
Please see if the issue is resolved.
I also recommend you edit /etc/apt/sources.list
again and remove the line that you added after updating. This will return you to the normal update channel.
Thanks Sam for your hard job
I already updated to your test version
But I´m not sure if the result it will be correct, if I last evening revert the kernel version?
Anyway I will inform you about news after update
Jan
