Red Cross

Thanks!

The other skin I use is Arctic Horizon

So with OSMC Skin all is stable? I think if you can run a couple of days on OSMC Skin to confirm stability would be helpful in terms to find the culprit.

OSMC skin in standby 100c

Surely not a healthy value. There must be an addon keeping it busy.

I am concerned about it going in flames.

Addons: skinhelper, imdb update, artworkdownloader, tmdb movie helper

edit: unplugged at 110c

It will be thermally throttled before it can be damaged.

No OSMC device has ever suffered spontaneous combustion.

I will check over your log and advise shortly.

@edworld1: Could you invest a minute and run the following command in the cli (ssh) when the temperature is again such high:

top -b -d 5 -n 12|paste-log

Please, provide the link, here.

Are there any background animations with that skin? Or are there any rolling plot texts when you encounter rise in temperatures. Those are two things I’ve encountered that can cause a thermal shutdown.

No. It is very similar to the OSMC skin, very simple and I dont have any widgets active.

I put the Vero on top of a computer fan that is powered by USB on my tv. I have not monitored temperature yet.

Can this damage the vero?

Blowing air at the bottom of the Vero? I don’t see how it would.
