Hi, I’ve recently done a clean install of OSMC, but can’t get Steamlink to work again. Grabbed the Zip file from the GitHub (0.0.6a version) and the addon seems to install okay, but when trying to launch it I get 3-4 lines of code flickering in the top-left of my screen before being sent back to the main OSMC menu. I remember many lines of code displaying before a succesful launch previously…

Can see 2 Error lines relating to Steamlink in the log;

2021-07-21 13:58:07.155 T:1577050336   ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting plugin://plugin.program.steamlink/
2021-07-21 13:58:07.155 T:1915954096   ERROR: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory(plugin://plugin.program.steamlink/) failed

But no idea how to fix these and get Steamlink running again. Any help greatly appreciated.

EDIT - I seem to remember Parsec being involved when initially setting this up way back when but can’t remember if that was on the PC, or OSMC side…

Version of Kodi ? and Raspberry Pi ?

Kodi 18.9 (OSMC 2020.11-1, kernel; Linux 4.19.122-2)
Pi 3 Model B

needs version 19 for the lastest version and if you have version 18 use a older version.

I’m using 0.0.6a (the last version suitable for Kodi 18 I thought). Which version should I be using for Kodi 18.9?

simple, if its matrix version the lastest and if its not the other…

seek help in the forums if your unsure which version you are running.

I understand that I’m using 18.9 Leia, and as such have stayed away from Steamlink versions 0.0.7 and above. But I’m having issues with Steamlink 0.0.6a on Leia 18.9.

I had similar issue… upgraded to matrix, but decided to go back to 18.9 leia on rpi 3b… seems something with repository and steamlink changed? not sure

To fix, I used 0.0.6a as you have done, but also installed steam link via ssh:
try

curl -#Of http://media.steampowered.com/steamlink/rpi/steamlink_1.0.7_armhf.deb

sudo dpkg -i steamlink_1.0.7_armhf.deb

then use 0.0.6a add-on as-is to launch from osmc’s kodi interface as before… will install some more stuff but eventually get going, or at least worked this way for me

Hi guys,
sorry I’m new to OSMC and to raspberry in general. So please excuse any stupid things :slight_smile:
It’s a Pi 4, 4GB. OSMC VERSION_ID=“2021.12-1”. Steamlink 0.0.10.

I installed it via Zip File. After first time running it installed several other stuff and I had to accept some steps. After that I got back to OSMC.

Then I started it again and got a message that it cannot start because the GPU memory is less then 128MB. I had to acknowledge that and got back to osmc

I tried to increase it, but OSMC doesn’t allow, because it is grayed. So I edited the “config.txt” and added “gpu_mem=256”.

Now when I start steamlink, i get 3-4 lines of code, which disappears immediately and osmc is starting again.

I have a similar problem. I have a raspberry pi 4 with OSMC, Kodi 19, steamlink 0.0.11. When I launch steamlink, it doesn’t display anything on the TV. I can see it starts steam in big picture mode on my computer and I can navigate it with my joystick, but there’s no display.

if any of you bothered to read the initial thread it says seek support for steamlink on steam forums not on OSMC forums, the launcher launched the app but the app is black

ie steam support. it aint that hard.

i hope i dont have to repeat myself again and again and again
