Remote control stopped working

Hello,

my OSMC remote (bought in 2017) for the vero4k stopped also working some weeks ago. I replaced the battery and tried to repair the device as it is described here. The remote shows a blue LED blinking, when I press a button. But I’m not able to bring it into the pairing mode (the LEDs stop blinking the second I stop pressing the buttons). So I’m not able to re-pair the remote.

When I re-plug-in the USB receiver I see those lines in the log, don’t know if they are meaningful?

Plugging the USB-receiver into another linux computer, I get the following (and more), but still no keypress from the remote is reaching the computer:

Any idea what to do?

Best,

P.S.: I wrote the same post over here in this pretty old and already resolved thread but didn’t receive a response so far. Sorry for crossposting!

The logs look good (show dongle is being detected).

To clarify with pairing: are you holding Home and OK buttons for a few seconds?

When you press a button on the remote, do you see a short blink or a long blink?

Sam

Yes, I’m holding Home+OK for a few seconds. The LED is flashing as long as I press the two buttons but stops flashing when I stop pressing the buttons.

Hard to say without a relation to what is short and what is long. I’d say it’s a short blink (less than one second).

Try pairing in another remote, otherwise it looks like the dongle has stopped working.

Hmm, I don’t have another remote. At least no remote I know that is able to pair to a USB dongle.

Any other way to test the dongle?

Is there any warranty on the remote + dongle (bought in 2017)?
Otherwise I’d need to look for a replacement.

After this time unfortunately not

Last try just to confirm this remote is broken: Try to connect it to a Windows PC as described here.

Thanks. I tried that, too, but with no success. So it seems that the remote is broken.
