Remote Doesn't work

In the past I’ve just used HDMI CEC or an app on my phone to control the Vero 4K+. I just remembered there was a remote included in the original box so I dug that out and tried to get it to work but no matter what I try I can’t get it to work.

I tried a new battery, holding down the OK and home buttons till the blue light goes on, then inserting the dongle to try to pair it. OSMC recognizes the dongle and it shows up as an input device, but the remote doesn’t do anything other than flash the blue light when I press a button. I tried pairing multiple times, turning off the Vero for 2 minutes as recommended, and also trying it on a Windows computer. The computer also recognizes the dongle as a keyboard, but again, nothing happens when I press a remote button.

Is there anything else I can try or did I just get a defective remote? Thanks in advance.

Not sure, have you everytime inserted the dongle after you started the initialization process on the remote? I think that in this way it is not possible for the two components to synchronize in time if it takes too long.

It seems you already found this pairing article in the wiki.

Is there a chance that you have at least one other OSMC remote control in your household?

I’ve tried both ways… pairing with the dongle in and waiting till the light was on before inserting the dongle. Don’t have any other OSMC remote in the house.

Depending on when you ordered your Vero 4k+, I suggest to contact support@osmc.tv and mention your order number. Depending on how long ago it was, @sam_nazarko will make a decision and he’s really not picky about the end of the warranty.
Otherwise just order a new remote in the shop, see on top.
As interim workaround, you can install the Kore app on your smartphone and use that.

Can you upload some logs so we can check the status of the receiver?

Have you gotten a chance to check the logs yet? Thanks.

Will give you an update tomorrow, haven’t had a chance to look at this myself yet, but it looks like a problematic USB receiver.
