The update dialog box came up and I chose to install and used the normal Vero V remote to select YES and the update installed fine. But now the standard remote doesn’t work. The battery is fine (I can see the LED) and I tried the HOME-OK repair but no luck. Can you help? I can’t do anything. (A reboot did not help.) Thanks.
To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:
-
enable debug logging at settings->system->logging
-
reboot the OSMC device twice(!)
-
reproduce the issue
-
upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the
Log Uploader
method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or thessh
method invoking commandgrab-logs -A
-
publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here
Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Um. Thanks. But how do I do this without the remote working? It was working fine all day and only stopped after the update was applied.
If you have an Android phone, you can download the Kore app and be able to use your phone as a remote.
There probably is a similar option available for iPhone users.
You should be able to use your TV remote to control the Veri
Do you get the pairing confirmation on the remote or does the light hang?
When I press the HOME and OK combination I see the LED come on but there is no response or confirmation from the Vero V. It just stays on the initial Kodi page (menu on the left). The remote was working fine immediately before the update and allowed me to select the update. (BTW - I have never used the dongle that comes with the Vero V. The new remote paired and worked fine for months without it until yesterday.)
Haven’t changed anything remote related in the update. A log should tell us if the receiver is being detected.
OK. I’ll have to figure out a way to initiate the log collection without the remote working. There was no change in my setup either. Just watching videos, the update dialog box came up, I selected to install it, normal reboot and then the remote no longer worked.
Is there any way to enable the logging through the SSH connection?
I’m having the same issue, after the first reboot a message popped up shortly on the home screen that said something along the lines of the CEC adapter not being initialized.
TV remote that normally also controls osmc fine isnt working either, neither is the vero’s bundled remote.
I will try to see if there is an iphone app i can use as a remote
CORRECTION:// after typing the message above and going back the tv remote IS working now, the bundled remote still isnt
Have you tried your TV remote?
Yes, grab-logs -A
and share the URL
Upload logs and share URL
oops, forget to set debug logging level first, new logs incoming
No need for debug logging for remote specific topic
okay, heres the normal log level again
https://paste.osmc.tv/alorozonoh
and just in case heres the debug level
Your log shows some USB related errors. There may be a problem with the internal USB receiver.
Did you say you ordered an extra remote dongle with your Vero V? Does that work when you plug it in?
Same issue, but have not changed anything USB related in this update
Do you have other USB devices connected, do they work?
Have you tried a cold boot?
No, the dongle doesn’t work either. I have a USB card plugged in for backups.
When you say doesn’t work? Is not recognised by lsusb? Did you try pair it?
Is the ‘USB card’ being detected?
