Rumblepad Support

Hi everyone,

Thanks for december last update.

I have some problem with my Gamepads (logitech Rumblepad 2 cordless - they are infrared), dmesg:

[ 4.614560] input: Logitech Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 as /devices/platfor m/soc/3f980000.usb/usb1/1-1/1-1.2/1-1.2.4/1-1.2.4.4/1-1.2.4.4:1.0/0003:046D:C219 .0001/input/input0
[ 4.615575] logitech 0003:046D:C219.0001: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Gamepa d [Logitech Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2] on usb-3f980000.usb-1.2.4.4/input0
[ 4.615628] logitech: probe of 0003:046D:C219.0001 failed with error -1

Toast tell me this:

“thats missing in the kernel its gonna be included in the kernel in the future so right now its impossible to get your logitech controller working”

Maybe you can add support in the future,

Thanks a lot.

-I waited for december update before I post this, but unfortunatly is not solve with last update.

Again thanks for your effort.

Hello all,

I’m attempting to extend my osmc to a game console. I installed retropie.
But somehow my Logitech rumblepad2 game controler (USB ID 046d:c218) does not work.
It is recognised, but none of the buttons function.

I tracked it down by connecting it to my laptop as well and comparing notes.
On my laptop it works correctly through the usbhid module.
On the Rpi however, this module does not exist.
Im on the latest osmc with kernel package rbp2-image-4.3.3-3-osmc
Is the usbhid module disabled., or is something wrong with my install?

Any advice?

Regards,

Bert

@brjhaverkamp I have moved your thread here as I believe this is the same topic

@brjhaverkamp see my reply on this topic

Indeed, exactly the same topic! I completely missed this one.
Except you have a fancy wireless one, I have an oldfashion one with USB cable

Good to see it is a known issue.
As far as I can see it, the usbhid module is missing for some reason.
But I found posts that showed usbhid is working on the Rpi. So I’m not sure why it was left out.
@sam, can you shed some light here?

its missing some kernel support me and @mcobit and others are working on bring a common controller package to OSMC

Hi Toast,

What do you mean with “its missing some kernel support”? Can’t it be compiled on the arm? Because it has full kernel support on X86.
What is the work you are trying to do exactly? Is there something I can help with?

Regards,

Bert

Same problem here with logitech rumblepad 2 (cordless)
Retropie does not react to it. Could anybody get it to work?
If a dev like to use my computer and my rumblepad from remote (teamviewer) just contact me.

I have the same issue with my Rumlepad 2 USB (the one with the cable).

It gets recognized but no key press is detected.

have the update said that rumble support will be added ?

simple answer is NO make a request or better yet make a PR at github

PR is open since last update. Didn’t get merged. But we talked about it.
@sam_nazarko was busy with other stuff I guess.

@mcobit @Toast Ok thanks for answers, time need time, I only want to report it.

Thanks for your effort.

Hi!

Is there any update on this? I still have the same problem :frowning:

hasnt been merged

I reminded @sam_nazarko.
I guess he wants it tested before merging.
Need to find time to build the modules but I don’t have a rumblepad to test.

Would you test a new kernel build when it gets available?
As said, I do not have a Rumblepad so I cannot test it myself unfortunately.

Sure! Just let me know when it is available and some install instructions
