To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:
enable debug logging at settings->system->logging
reboot the OSMC device twice(!)
reproduce the issue
upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A
publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here
Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.
I also found this link https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=345450
which if you scroll to the end mentions using VLC as an external player. I don’t have this installed with OSMC so I did not try this.
That would only be available if you have a X-Server installed which conflicts with Kodi on OSMC.
But based on the Forum the VLC was just to test for latest FFMPEG version.
I have found that the link has a title=xxxx on the end.
On trying to play this in VLC on another computer it will not play.
However removing the title=… from the link will play in VLC
I have contacted the developer with this information and hope for a response.
Yeah that is what I meant. I just tested that on my Pi3 (which runs the current testing version of OSMC) and it works there. So it might be a problem with the older version while I wonder about that.
If you are eager jump on the testing waggon
I think I will wait for the update to filter through. It sounds like it won’t be long.
Will the update happen automatically, or do I have to request it somewhere?
