Surround audio problem

Hi!

I quite recently got my Vero 4+ and have noticed one issue: Playback of AAC 7.1 or AAC 5.1 video don’t sound that much. I think it is only the surround channel that gets out. There is no problem with AC3 5.1. I have tried to fix it by selecting different audio settings (mostly pass-through) but have not yet found any solution.

My setup is as follows. Vero 4+ connects to HDMI Switch (Chinese noname) and it connects to my Panasonic SA-XR55 receiver.

Current settings:

  • Output device: HDMI
  • Number of channels: 7.1
  • Configuration: Best Match
  • Passthough: Yes (AC3 & DTS)

With this configuration, should happen with the AAC 7.1? Transcoded to AC3 7.1? Does it matter if the source is H.264 or H.265?

How do I fix this?

With passthrough, set channels to 2.0.

Yes, but then I only get 2.0. I would like to get at least 5.0 digital (not Pro Logic) audio.

Enable AC3 transcoding.

No you don’t. Try it. But also turn on AC3 transcoding.

Where do I find it? Do I have to select other Configuration for it to show?

Set ‘Settings level: Advanced’ (bottom left)

Ah, it only shows when you have 2.0 channels selected. I went back to 7.1 and that’s why it didn’t show.

Thanks a lot everybody for the help!!
