System crash after September 2017 updates

After the September 2017 update, it happened twice the system being “found crashed”
Black screen on the TV.
Not possible to access remotely the raspberry pi (ssh, ftp, samba, etc …,),

This happened exactly twice, once per day, after the update - before that the system never hanged and I have not changed anything.

Of course it can be many things.

I cannot connect to the system and after forcing a reboot, the system logs are reset.
What approach do you suggest to get logs which may help on tracing the issue ?

Well at least kodi logs are retained after reboot so that can already be used to analyse. Alternatively enable persistent system logs
