I downgraded from krypton to the stable build, but i am not able to use cec because it is still at libcec 3.1 and i cant downgrade it to 3.0, it always shows ‘Reinstallation of rbp2-libcec-osmc is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.’

My sources list has the main repo, still i cabt reinstall libcec, anybody knows any way?

You would need to put apt-get install rbp2-libcec-osmc=VERSION where the version can be determined from apt-cache.

On my side, I have had trouble with new libcec 4.0 so I did try to revert to latest version before 4.0 was introduced using :
apt-get install rbp2-libcec-osmc=16.8-175

but then I had no way to configure it inside Kodi’s interface since it was greyout and so my TV remote was completely ignored.

So I did upgrade again to 16.8-181 where libcec 4.0 seems to be broken but at least recognized my TV remote.

What troubles did you have? OSMC will be using libCEC 4.0.0 as standard with the next Kodi update so it’s good to get these issues solved.

This version # is incorrect. It should be 3.xxxxxx.

I probably did issue the correct command on the PI and just retype it here wrongly

The issue I face is that the TV remote shut down correctly the TV, the AVR, and successfully stop PVR live TV stream (that wasnt possible in previous version).
Then I power on with the TV remote, the TV turn ON, the AVR too BUT Kodi output a black screen.
I think there is a signal but it renders black.

When the screen is black the remote is working and I can here the Kodi’s “click” interface sound so the AVR is receiving HDMI sound.

After a feew blind clicks it randomly finally bring Kodi’s interface back on the screen.

Edit : I would probably try a clean install and upgrade to latest beta in order to start clean.

You will need to post a log.

The issue doesn’t sound CEC related however. Do you have a screensaver enabled?

I also thought it could be the screen saver and disabled it : same black screen.
Regarding the log, do you need me to do a special sequence on the remote?

I don’t think it’s remote related. It sounds like the system becomes responsive after a period of inactivity. You could try waking with a smartphone app and seeing if it works.

I need a debug log exhibiting the problem.

Sorry I didn’t catched log because various things were working wrongly, I did a clean intall.

Sadly it doesnt solved the CEC issue nor it did fixed the interface to be reseted.

For example, I remove “Radio” from the home interface in the settings, reboot and radio is back :frowning:(

For libcec settings there is also a strange behavior in the interface : if I ask it to be reseted to its default then I can see the parameter “connected to” “TV” or “AVR”, I then set it to AVR, click OK, re-enter the cec parameters and then the “connected to” isn’t here anymore.

Now it seems that libcec settings have no effect at all, it doesnt auto start or stop my AVR when I turn off my TV (Samsung 2012 serie).

Sorry – without any logs I don’t think anyone can help.

@propergol post logs of your issue… its been said over and over in this thread if there arent any logs we cant help you.

we cant see whats going on in your system without your logs and a description of the problem isnt good enough.

I have 5 people watching the TV for now, so I can only grab the logs via putty, I don’t know if it could help.
Anyway  odi.log http://paste.osmc.io/yofefosiwa.vhdl
