[TESTING] Kodi 17 (Krypton) builds for Raspberry Pi (continued)

No.

1 sad face and all fine is well known and finally quashed in next Kodi release (skin shortcuts issue).

If you have crashes, and no one else has reported them, it sounds like a local issue. I’d suggest a new forum post with some logs if you think it’s an issue with an OSMC build. I would recommend you try reverting to Jarvis first.

Sam

Ok, I will try to produce some documented testing result on Jarvis.
But I don’t think this issue was present in earlier Krypton build.

I’m getting error on automatic updates installing with this build. Only manual update working. Is it expected behaviour or my system’s issue?

Expected behaviour.

16.8-195, 26 Nov 2016: Based off OSMC commit (b9120ae19) and newclock5 (bf7ddd8d)

Build Highlights
Temporarily removed peripheral.joystick due to build errors.

pvr.hts:

Because we are not signing those packages.

It can be done but makes versioning hard. Something for me to think about

Having a huge amount of trouble playing videos since I moved to this beta a couple of days ago. Almost any video local or a stream will play unwatchably slow and stutters with long pauses. I have no idea what is gone wrong with it. Strangely enough I’ve found some youtube videos are the only thing that can play smoothly. I’ve made logs of me trying to play a video that was playing fine on Jarvis. With debugging on I can see everything running smoothly at 60fps in the menus and drops to 6-8fps when playing a video with very low CPU usage.

Anyone able to help?

Thanks

I’m seeing loads of ffmpeg failures.

Which version of the nightlies are you running? There was a bump to a new version of ffmpeg in 16.8-196. Might be worth going back to 195 and see if you still have the same issues.

I’m running the newest version AFAIK, just updated it now and I’m getting exactly the same behaviour.

Haven’t been able to figure out installing different versions or downgrading. Been searching everywhere but finding it incredibly hard to find detailed instructions. I’m computer literate and happy to go tinkering but very linux inexperienced.

Installing a previous version is mentioned in the first post.

sudo apt-get install rbp2-mediacenter-osmc=VERSION

Where version for example is 16.8-195. If you are on the Pi1 then rbp1-mediacenter-osmc

It seems that .198 is not yet online.

I have .197 installed. After installing I got the message that the inputstream addons I had installed were not compatible. So I removed the addons, downgraded to .195 and then back to .197. How can I enable inputstream - I cannot find it and it seems not to work.

Eriol

Whoops - forgot to update sync. Should be avaialable within the hour.

Update: Ahh - seems inputstream.adaptive was not added to the last build. Will fix for the next build

Hi there. short question. With the osmc krypton builds im not to be able to load pvr addons. Always the same message “unable to load addon - unkown error occured”. Google told me that this error was solved with kodi krypton beta 5. why it isnt with osmc builds?

hi

running sudo apt-get install rbp1-mediacenter-osmc on pi zero I keep getting:

error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/rbp-userland-osmc_1.5.0-1_armhf.deb (–unpack)
trying to overwrite ‘/opt/vc/bin/vcdbg’, which is also in package libraspberypi-bin 1.20161125-1

any ideas?

Thanks very much

???

Looks like you are trying to install on Raspbian.

You need to be running OSMC, not Raspbian

Having upgraded to Krypton via this thread [TESTING] Kodi 17 (Krypton) Beta Builds for all platforms do I need do anything other than usual sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade ?

As although I’m on kodi 17 when I run the command nothing is available or should it be done within Kodi?

There seems a lot more commands at the top of this thread than I ever ran…:astonished:
