[TESTING] Kodi v19 builds for Vero 4K / 4K +

If you post debug enabled logs and mediainfo of the video we would at least have a chance to check the bug.
Also first step with such issues would be to play it locally to exclude the network as a source of problem.

I updated again to the latest version and its now fixed. Thanks Chillbo.

Thanks for the feedback! For reference, it should be this issue that’s the root cause: Include rebuild not triggered after template changes · Issue #33 · mikesilvo164/script.skinshortcuts · GitHub

Hopefully, that will be fixed eventually. I’ve circumvented the issue for the time being, but it’s not the way it’s supposed to be.

Concerning the mediainfo it does it for all videos, all formats (h264, AC3, dts, x265, aac, etc etc.) I really tried several dozens of formats and it’s always the same.

Concerning the log How i can i upload it ?

I updated to latest version as well and no longer an issue.

Then before uploading logs try to play the files locally to exclude the network as an issue.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Thx for confirming!

A footnote to my painful experience with version 19, noted here at length. My problem was caused by a failing hdmi device so apologies to all. Working well on new display now thanks.

Budgie

Glad to hear this.

For some of my videos, the audio skips, and eventually just quits. Sometimes the video and audio are out-of-sync (as well as with the sub-titles). I have not (yet) found any common factor among the videos that are doing this. Again, this is only for certain videoes specified.

I uploaded logs to https://paste.osmc.tv/fekabiyine

I should note that when I first tried to upload logs, I got a response back with “https://paste.osmc.tv/\<html>”. After that I tried updating osmc. I think only the osmc skin updated. But, afterwards, the above url was returned.

I will try several videos again that I know have this problem, and upload those logs as well.

This is after I got all of my network problems resolved and optimized everything that seemed to need it. Performance problems disappeared after that. I can play full 4K UHD videos with no problems. But do note that i can’t do this using the internal builtin wifi; I have an access point that I plug into the vero lan port, This gives me more than enough bandwidth needed.

Fortunately, this seems to fails for a few videos,. Hopefully the other videos in collection will still play well.

  1. I moved your post hear as you are on the Testing Builds.
  2. We recommend to change the GUI to 1080p not running it in 4k
  3. For a video that you can reproduce the issue provide mediainfo via http://videosam.pl and provide filename so people can find it in the logs.

Dang! forgot that I was still using test builds. sorry.

OK.

mediainfo:
https://paste.osmc.tv/xeyacaxeli

In the logs I only used one movie (“Macbeth”) and only ran it once, then stopped it.

Hope this helps,

ken

There is no information about any Macbeth movie being played in that log. Actually there is no trace of any try to play something.

Having problems uploading logs. Via osmc log uploader, I get “http://paste.osmc.tv<html>

Trying to upload file to “http://videosam.pl” I keep getting a login prompt. Trying paste text, but it is big text file.

have uploaded kodi.log to: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15xsQmvudyC5dMo6RbpJedhNySNbSnwre/view?usp=sharing

this is a tar.gz archive.

let me know if you get this.

Having serious internet problems today…

Do not enable any component specific logging, ONLY enable debug logging. Reboot twice before demonstrating issue and obtaining logs.

Yes it can be opened, but as it is 33M it already show that there is a problem.

What I see is many of this entries, lets see what the expers say:

Finally got logs to upload via osmc: http://paste.osmc.tv/jenicihhoge

this has full component logging. The movie, again, is “Macbeth”. I started where it was last stopped. And the audio is very much out of sync.

I have copied the mediainfo to another video “Gangs of London” to `https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wm0t3dxVliKYE_qcXq0HHo-9lH_AFMln/view?usp=sharing
(sorry about names.) I don’t have kodi logs for this, but I do know that it too has audio sync problems.

Sorry for all of the inconvenience, thanks for the help.

I have a problem, that my Vero doesnt remember when i am switching from an 1080p Display to an 4k Display… Is it somehow possible to fix the EDID in the vero 4k?

Dispite i have an 4k, or 720p display pluged in… i want that the vero always thinking that the display is cabable of everthing…

4k @ 24hz/30hz/50hz/60hz
1080p @ 24/30/50/60hz…
1080p 3D @ 24 hz etc…

And also on the audio side… with Dolby TrueHD, DTS Master HD, etc…

Maybe you have an tip for me? Thanks! I really enjoy the the device and the software

I have to ask - why would you want that? If you change display, Vero should check all the resolutions available automatically. Isn’t that happening? Also is this something you’ve found to be different on these Kodi v19 builds than on 18.9? If not, we’ll move this to a new thread.

Because I have an AVR with Projektor (4k) and TV (FullHD) connected… i use it only with the projector… but sometimes it detects the TV and so Full HD is only avaibalbe… so I want to persist the EDID Data… is that somehow possible? Thanks!
