thanks in advanced for any help

First thing to always check: can you play it locally off something like a USB? This is to rule out network problems

Sam

hi, i copy the movie to usb and the movie play fine local, did you have any chance to look at the logs to see what could be the problem, i mean the movie play fine on the shield and apple tv 4k over the network

thanks

It looks like you are using Kodi NFS mounts instead of fstab mounts. I’d suggest that you switch to using fstab as it will perform better than Kodi mounts.

You don’t mention how your network is configured to the 4K. WiFi or Wired? Have you done any iperf3 testing to make sure the network connection to the 4K is good?

well i know my network is good, like i say i play 4k on my shield using kodi or plex, and appletv using mrmc or infuse, so i know my network is fine, i use wired only dont like wi-fi to stream or play back over the network, anyway this just happen with this movie maybe is one of things that happen without explanation

what is fstab i never use it, how do i enable it

thanks in advanced

Nobody said differently but “Overall bit rate : 82.6 Mb/s” with the build-in NFS client can be a border case.
FSTAB info is here:

maybe because the vero 4k is not have a gigabyte network that could be why 82Mb/s can struggle, on other device that have gigabyte network i always use strait nfs or samba and never have problem, anyways that fstab look a little complicate for me, i will give it a try and see if i can get it working,
maybe some times i sound rude but it just a language problem all im trying to do is see what the problem is

thanks for all you help, and please my english is no first language

You don’t need Gigabit for 82Mbps

Sam

This might not be particularly helpful to the OP but a 4K/HDR remux of Hurricane Heist played back flawlessly for me with Atmos over the built-in 100Mbps NIC from an fstab-configured NFS mountpoint.

In fact, I haven’t had any 4K remuxes (even ones from the largest 100GB discs) that appear to have been throttled or have otherwise not played smoothly due to perceived limitations of the built-in NIC on the Vero 4K.

Hi. Those of you using fstab mounts, is autofs as good as fstab in terms of performance? I’m using autofs for my NFS mounts but I don’t mind changing to a static fstab entry if that improves the transfer rate.

Thanks

It doesn’t seem to be that popular, but spending a few £/$ etc on a USB NIC is an easy way to solve this. 324Mbit speeds, and MUCH faster fast-forwarding/buffer-filling during movies.

82Mbs will not cause an issue with the internal adapter.
Something else is at play here. If @rodhull says a remux fixes the problem, then there might be an issue with the rip.

Obviously not appropriate for the forum, but it’s likely you have ‘sourced’ the same version…

Sam

there is no issue with the remux, the file play direct play fine on 2 more different devices without any problem, anyways i already watch the movie on the shield so we can move on

thanks for all the help

If this was a torrent, can you please PM me a magnet so I can look in to this?
Sam

sorry it was no a torrent and i already delete the movie

i was thinking about to get one but the vero 4k only have usb 2.0 so i dont think you can get gigabyte speed over usb 2.0

Correct. But 324Mbit is better than 100Mbit. Noticeably so.

it make sense im gone get one on amazon they are really cheap and i dont use the usb ports anyways

thanks

fstab entries are free

But yeah a Gbit adapter is only €15, but still fstab provides a better throughput…

I got this one, as recommended by people here:

Does it? Any evidence of this?
