TrueHD / DTS-HD Vero 2

Not working on my Vero 2. Only 2 channel PCM is being passed thru, according to my Onkyo AVR. Can anyone describe the settings required to passthru DTS? I am playing files that my Vero 2 reports as being encoded in DTS, by the way.

My AV Receiver is set to automatically detect the input source, and changes from one to the other one.
Are you sure there is a DTS/AC3 stream sent through? Some movies etc. have AAC which is not a DTS nor AC3 stream, hence won’t work.
Also - did you configure the audio-settings correctly? Told Kodi that your device can do AC3, DTS etc.?

Enable ‘Expert’ Settings so you can see all passthrough settings under System -> Settings.

Expert settings are most certainly enabled. Everything except for the “Dolby transcoding” option is enabled. Only 2 channels being passed thru though.

Please upload a debug log.

It’s also worth checking what is being reported as supported by your AVR/TV.

cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/aud_cap gives me:

CodingType MaxChannels SamplingFreq SampleSize
PCM, 2 ch, 32/44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, 16/20/24 bit
PCM, 6 ch, 32/44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, 16/20/24 bit
PCM, 8 ch, 32/44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, 16/20/24 bit
AC-3, 6 ch, 32/44.1/48 kHz, 16/24 bit
DTS, 6 ch, 32/44.1/48/88.2/96 kHz, bit
Dobly_Digital+, 8 ch, 44.1/48 kHz, bit
MAT, 8 ch, 48/96/192 kHz, bit
DTS-HD, 8 ch, 44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, 16 bit

Heh. Mine gives:

osmc@osmc4k:~$ cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/aud_cap
CodingType MaxChannels SamplingFreq SampleSize
PCM, 2 ch, 32/44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, 16/20/24 bit
PCM, 8 ch, 32/44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, 16/20/24 bit
AC-3, 8 ch, 32/44.1/48 kHz, bit
DTS, 8 ch, 44.1/48 kHz, bit
Dobly_Digital+, 8 ch, 44.1/48 kHz, bit
DTS-HD, 8 ch, 44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, 16 bit
MAT, 8 ch, 44.1/48/88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz, bit

but that on a vero 4k. My regular Vero is not connected to a Receiver anymore

@Phil_in_NZ: Another idea: The activated feature

Settings-> Player -> Video -> "Sync playback to display"

prevents DTS passthrough although correctly activated in Settings -> System -> Audio with active DTS capable.

Indeed: check for this.

Nice one Jim! That solved it - my DTS is back!!! Thank you very much.
