Well people who don’t open a new thread and provide debug logs and details as requested even SUCK more

You don’t need to update if what works for you already works.
But if you’d like to get your issue resolved, please start a new forum post.

We’re not aware of any changes that would have caused your USB soundcard to stop working. It would also help to know which device you’re running OSMC on.

VERO 4K
before update sound…
after update no sound…

what will be the cause…

Unfortunately it’s hard to tell from that without knowing more information. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here. Please do this in a new thread.

No need, I sperated this from the release thread now.

Problems? Find a doctor. Nobody asked you @fzinken

Cool it. @fzinken volunteers in his own free time to help users.

Our goal is to resolve problems as quickly as possible. We’re looking in to this for you but you haven’t given us much to go on. We’ll therefore try and reproduce the issue locally and give you an update if we can identify a problem and resolve it. For now – you may wish to downgrade.

Sam

Is this statement serious? The purpose of updates is not to do it?

Then you should change the text (e.g DON’T UPDATE!):

OSMC’s April update is now available
We’ve been working hard on a number of improvements and fixes for your OSMC device. Here’s what’s new:
• Improved audio on Vero 4K
• Improved HDR video playback on Vero 4K
• Bluetooth audio improvements
• Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Ethernet adapter improvements
• OSMC skin improvements and fixes.
(and much more!)
If you have automatic updates enabled, you will get an update notification shortly. To find out more about this update, you can visit our blog.

I bought the product to have no problems. But with every update there are problems.
I have neither the time nor the desire to deal with the crap all the time

And here are the important ones that believe they belong to the “Posting Police”.
In real life loser here big and important - ridiculous.

Lousy quality.
And do not forget the product is not free.

The hardware was made only for this software.
Therefore, warranty also applies here.

This was my last post here.
In the support case, I will only communicate via email.
you can delete my account her - completely uninteresting.

I couldn’t find any other reports of issues from your post history or any support tickets with your email.

A large number of users have updated, without issue. For the small number of users that do experience an issue, it’s helpful to provide a debug log. This can be done by going to My OSMC → Logs, and posting the URL here.

We’ve made it as simple as we can to provide this information.

Telling people that an update ‘sucks’ is not constructive. While we can appreciate the frustration, it’s not helpful. It doesn’t help us identify the problem any quicker, and more importantly, it does not let us solve your problem any quicker.

Let us help you. Provide the necessary information, and we’ll fix the problem. We’re also looking in to this our end here. Bugs can, and will happen. For us, it’s more important that we fix them promptly.

While we’ll do our best to identify the issue and resolve it here, a debug log from you will definitely help accelerate things.

Sam

Hi Sam,

Unfortunately this update has broken my USB sound as well. My USB audio device is an Audiophilleo 2. Log:

http://paste.osmc.tv/gamotiwibu

While I’m at it, can I remind you of the USB audio crackle issue here (USB audio crackle and pop) although it is possible the update will fix this when the audio is working again.

Thanks!

PS. there is no need for the OP to be so rude without being helpful. Let me know if I can do anything further for you to narrow this problem down and fix asap.

We are able to reproduce USB audio not working and this is being looked into.

Which logs do you want me to post ? I’m not sure what “debug logs” refers to.

While debug enabled logs are explained here
How to submit a useful support request - General - OSMC you don’t need to provide them anymore as @DBMandrake wrote the team is able to reproduce the issue and is looking into the resolution

Hi

Hopefully the issue is now addressed with the following commit:

I’d appreciate it if you could test this and provide feedback before we potentially release this as an update to other users. To test this update:

  1. Login via the command line
  2. Edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list
  3. Add the following line: deb http://apt.osmc.tv stretch-devel main
  4. Run the following commands to update: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && reboot
  5. Your system should have have received the update.

Please see if the issue is resolved.

I also recommend you edit /etc/apt/sources.list again and remove the line that you added after updating. This will return you to the normal update channel.

Thanks for your patience while we resolved this issue.

Hi,

I updated using the steps above and the issue has been resolved for me. USB audio is working once again. Thanks for the quick fix!

The update resolves the issue for me too. Thanks for the fast turnaround!
