Vero 4k dead

Hi!
After some months turned off I connected my Vero 4k today, but it does not boot properly. The red light on the front is on and that’s it. Even with telnet I get no access.
Is there anything else I can try?
Many thanks in advance!
G

Try another PSU. If you don’t have a 5V,2A PSU with a barrel connector, another way is to use a (minimum 1A) USB PSU with a USB A-A cable.

Thanks a lot, that worked. I took the PSU from the old Vero 4k.
Now I face the next problem. My OSMC Version is fom November 2020 and it doesn’t update. So I did this:
Go to My OSMC → Updates → Manual Controls → Apply Hotfix. Enter ucawobahij and proceed. You can now update your device via My OSMC or the command line
but still get the connectivity issue message. Is my OSMC too old for that hotfix?
KR
G

What exactly is the message?

“Connectivity issue while checking for update”

I’m just guessing but I think you have to apply the hotfix mentioned in this post

OP has attempted that already but I think Connectivity issue just means he’s not connected to the internet.

No, Vero 4k+ is definitely connected to the internet!!
When I’m doing the update via command-line I get this.

OK the hotfix url has expired. Maybe @sam_nazarko can remind us the cli commands you need. This might work: make a file
sudo nano /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/00-osmc-allow-suite-changes
with the following content

Acquire::AllowReleaseInfoChange::Suite "true";
quiet::ReleaseInfoChange::Version "true";

Then try to update-upgrade again.

But maybe you just have to reinstall Cannot update, even after hotfix - #3 by sam_nazarko

Thank you!
Kodi is now on status 10_2022.
I made a backup before reinstalling OSMC which I restored after installation. Unfortunately Kodi says that my library is empty. When I scroll to the movie-files and want to start a movie from there I only get a sad face.
Is there an easy solution, or is it better to dump the backup and populate the library completely new?

After you restore your backup you would need to delete the new versions of the database that automatically have been created on initial start. Then your old database should be automatically migrated to the new versions.
Check the files in ~/.kodi/userdata/Database

Thank you!
While checking the files you mentioned I realized and remembered that, long ago, I outsourced the database to an MYSQL Server on my NAS to allow access of both my Veros. After an firmware update, the OS of the QNAP does not support my version of MariaDB anymore. So this will be a bigger operation and I think I have to redo everything from scratch. Does sharing the Kodi library databases via the MySQL protocol work within Kodi 19?

Both Maria / MySQL should work just fine
