Vero 4K General Discussion

Can the Vero 3 display frame packed 3D? Are there any restrictions in displaying common 3D formats?

It wonā€™t output frame packed 3D at this time
SBS and TB work.

We have MVC support (output as SBS), on Vero 2, but not everyone had good results. We might look further at this in the future, but most 3D content users have is in SBS which works. Unfortunately it seems that TV manufacturers have stopped producing new 3D TVs now.

Thanks for the quick reply Sam. Letā€™s hope it will become an option in the future if the hardware is capable of supporting it.

Itā€™s indeed a sad thing to see the quick decline of 3D TVs although the gains in nits for the 3D-less LG Oled panels are probably more important now HDR is becoming the next big thing.

It currently isnā€™t a big issue for me and Iā€™ve already ordered it.

Android ?

Will the vero4k dual boot ?

Hi, is provided power adapter supports worldwide 100-240V 50/60Hz?
Another question regarding power plug, here, in Israel, we have type H socket, do you provide compatible plug or it would be enough to use any passive plug adapter?
Thank you for your time and efforts.

The V4k will arrive with the appropriate power supply and plug for your location.

Thanks!

Just bought one also, I considered buying the Vero 2 but I already had the Raspberry Pi 2 at the time, even though I have a rbpi 3 now I think this Vero 3 will offer a great media improvement over my rbpi 3 and a great piece to my man cave, thx Sam.

Now i have Mini M8S 905x with 4k HEVC support, but it isnā€™t capable to play any of this files https://goo.gl/6bjNJR
Can you, or anybody who have VERO 4K test this files and post a proof that they are working?

Anyone interested in my vero2? Want to buy the vero4k because it supports HD Audio.

Always been an ardent follower of Samā€™s (and team) techinical advances but this time I might pass on the grounds that a) the current Vero2 I have works like a gem and that b) my TV is and will stay for another few years at 1080p.

Am I not considering some other important factor (other than making Sam happy ? )

Ciao

I downloaded and tested these clips. They are know as torture test clips for a reason! They will not currently play on a Vero 4K, but I will look at this. Fortunately thereā€™s not a lot of content like this out there.

If your Vero 2 is still working well and serving your needs then you probably donā€™t need to upgrade. The new model is improved, but a lot of people will find their Vero 2 still serves them for many years to come

Cheers

After years of using osmc with rasp pi 2 and 3, the only right way for me was to order the vero 4k on his release date.

Thanks for your great work everytime.

Ordered 2! However, ditto on native Netflix support; otherwise will be stuck with multiple media servers. With your comment about Widevine in mind, should we simply accept fate and host Netflix on another device?

Does it also have pins like the Pi3 so I can connect my selfmade ambilight running hyperion?
That would be awesome otherwise I still need 2 devices near my tv.

For now, use another device

No GPIO pins that are easily accessible, but you can use a USB based grabber (it will work).

Any performance improvements over V2 expected on the built in wifi?

Vero 4K is 802.11ac (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz)
Vero 2 is 802.11n (2.4Ghz)

Vero 4K also has integrated Bluetooth.

Thanks Sam, one other thing - is line of sight required for the remote? (ie. I will mount the device on the back of the TV )
