Vero 4k only plays 4k content when resolution is set to 4096

Hi,

I’ve just purchased a 4K TV, so this is the first time I’ve used the Vero 4k for 4K content. When I play a 4k movie the screen goes blank with no sound. If I pull up the menu (so the main kodi menu overlays) the movie is playing in the background with sound. Removing the menu causes the screen to go blank again. When I stop the movie the kodi interface displays. All non-4K content plays fine. I have tried 6 different HDMI cables (4 of them new and 2.0), and all the HDMI ports in the TV. All of the movies play fine when copied to a USB stick and plugged into the TV directly.

If I set System setting → Display → Resolution to 4096 everything works (although the main kodi menus are very dark). Is this expected behaviour as all the other posts I’ve read state that resolution should be set to 1080p, and it will switch to higher resolution when needed. I’m happy to leave it as is, so just wanted to flag to you in case you deem it worthy of further investigation.

The log shows:
clean boot
navigating to a movie (with the resolution set to 1080p), and playing the movie (blank screen)
Bring up the menu overlay (movie plays in the background)
Remove the menu overlay (movie stops)
Stop the movie and then change the resolution to 4k
Playing the movie again (plays fine)

Thanks for the report. Looks like you have a LG C8. This is similar to the issues discussed here, which are being worked on:

Set your GUI to 1080p and turn adjust refresh rate off while we get to the bottom of it.

Thanks for pointing me at that, I’ll keep an eye on the post.

Cheers
