Vero 4k Original Remote Not Working

Hi All,

For some reason my remote started not to work and I have tried the following already and still without luck.

  1. Changed battery, blue light flashes.
  2. Re-paired the remote as per guidance found within forum.
  3. Plugged receiver into PC and windows installed drivers automatically but when I tried to use the remote to scroll a webpage (think this is what someone recommended on forum) it does not work. However, the PC gives a “disconnect” audio notification.

Would appreciate your help to see what can be done before splashing out for a new remote.

Thanks.

Please upload a log with the USB dongle connected so we can see if it’s detected correctly.

@jkkc313 Just to be sure, have another look at this wiki article for correct pairing: Pairing the Original Black OSMC RF Remote Control with a Pi/Vero2/4k/4k+

just tried, no luck

thanks, you mind telling me how this can be done?

Here’s the log

Can you explain what you mean by this?

so when you plug-in a usb device Windows with give you a audio notification and similarly when you disconnect it, it gives a similar tone.

For the remote, when i plug the adaptor in it appears to work and install all relevant drivers. But when i scroll a webpage or conduct the notepad test with the remote, a disconnect tone occurs and nothing happens on the screen. The same disconnect tone occurs if i try again a few seconds later.

And does the blue LED give you a short flash initially but then become a long pulse?

To confirm I did the following.

  1. In plugged the dongle.
  2. Hold home and ok for 5 seconds until flashing
  3. Plug in the dongle which gave me 3 flashes on remote.
  4. Power off, wait 2 minutes
  5. Turn on system, remote still doesn’t work

When should the long pulse occur?

Ah, yes there was a long pulse after holding the ok and home for a short while.

But when you press a button is there a quick blue flash or a drawn out one?

After holding home and ok for 5 secs, a long bright blue light comes on then dims after a few seconds

I’m talking about when you are pressing buttons — sorry for confusion.

dim blue spot for around 1 sec

I suspect your dongle may be problematic. We can send you a new one if you contact support.

thanks, and will do.

Just to say I have received the new dongle and the remote now works, thanks a lot
