Hello, recently updated all my OSMC instances to the latest version of Matrix from the old builds circa 2020.
I am having an issue with the Vero4K only, in which audio for youtube rips (kid shows) will not play. The audio works fine on my RPi 3B+ instances on the same update.

Unfortunately you haven’t uploaded full logs so it’s hard to say.
It looks like you’ve upgraded to Kodi Nexus (v20).

Nothing obvious from logs.
Can you provide the MediaInfo for the file?
We might need to get a sample of the file, or if you downloaded it via youtube-dl, a link so that it can be reproduced locally.
Will work on that now - you’re probably right on the version, actually.

How did you rip this file?
Not sure - it was a while ago. One of those online converter things. I can send you the file if you’d like.
@sam_nazarko did you require the video file to reproduce?
As an aside - looks like there are issues playing these on my 3B+ media centers too - audio appears to play okay, but get playback glitches every 30s or so. Let me know if you’d like logs from there too.
Nothing has changed w/ my environment outside of the upgrades to OSMC.
Try ripping with it YouTube-DL. If the issue persists I can take a look.

I am also experiencing audio problems watching the above tv-station (Telemedellin). I use the IPTV simple addon to watch this.

Sometimes the audio works and sometimes not.
In VLC there are no problems playing that station. In DVB viewer no problems either.
Hey Sam, I did rip this one using youtube-dl to mp4.
Same issue on the Vero, did not confirm on the 3B+. Not sure if related, but also noticed I dont get any UI sounds despite having them toggled on (System > Settings > Audio > Play GUI Sounds) on the Vero as well.

Plays fine here on both Pi and Vero.
guess you must have an issue with your audio settings especially also if you don’t hear navigation sounds
Any suggestions? I restored my vero to factory settings reinstalling a fresh image and it did not fix it.
Try changing the audio device from default and show us what settings you get

Okay - ive managed to narrow it down.
Something strange is going on with my AV receiver. Bypassing the receiver and plugging directly to the TV plays both the GUI and show’s sound properly.
Has anything changed in this update pertaining to how kodi/osmc process 2 channel audio with a receiver? Maybe something in the settings I need to configure differently? I’ve tried with both passthrough enabled and disabled in settings > audio. Also configured it to 5.1 there too. Tried with the default settings, changing the audio output device.
Shouldn’t be the case.
Are you turning on the AVR before OSMC?
Can you try a fresh boot with everything on before you start the Vero?
Yes, tried rebooting with everything on. ll try a cold start.
Edit: @sam_nazarko Cold boot does not solve it. Interestingly, early in the boot process all my speakers in Output are yellow, but halfway thru or so they gray out.

It is a bit of a workaround but I would try changing your audio settings to
2 channel
passthrough>enable
AC3>enable
AC3 transcoding>enable
everything else in that section>enable
