WiFi Connection on R-Pi 4

I cannot see my 5 GHz network. It appears as though R-PI 4 should have the capability to do this unless I am mistaken. Is there something I’m missing or need to configure?

On which channel is your 5 GHz network? Certain channels would need you to configure your country via the CRDA tool.

A few tips for using 5GHz WiFi

There have been questions on various forums concerning getting 5GHz WiFi to work on the RPi. I thought I’d share my experiences. My RPi2 was using an Edimax nano 2.4GHz adapter that was quite slow and there was interference from the ~40 neighboring networks, the 2MB/s (on a 72Mbps link) was plenty enough to stream movies but using my microwave oven would cause stuttering or even disrupt streaming completely. When I try to connect to the 2.4 GHZ network it prompts for a password. It notes “Configuring…” for a while before displaying a Connection Failed message with status stating no wireless connection. I’m using a Logitech wireless keyboard as input but have entered the PW using both the letter keys and navigating the on-screen keyboard.

I’d suggest that you try to delete and re-create the WiFi settings for the SSID from the command line. connmanctl scan wifi services (You should see the “Vodafone-A56404013” SSID followed by a long string that begins with wifi_ and ends with _managed_psk.) config wifi_xxxxxxxxxxx_managed_psk --remove scan wifi agent on connect wifi_xxxxxxxxxxx_managed_psk (enter passphrase) quit If it connects correctly, you should see the message: Connected wifi_xxxxxxxxxxx_managed_psk
