Wifi finetuning with location settings

Hello there,

based on this A few tips for using 5GHz WiFi I have some experience I like to share.

I have questioning my Wifi about the performence next to a PI4 with Raspbian, so I found the Topic above. I checkt my wifi (iw reg get)

Marked my range of my wifi 5 network bold and cursiv.

After the localisation of my Wifi my PI jumped from Wifi 4 to Wifi 5 with double the used bandwidth. Resulting in doubling my datarate to my OSMC.

Bottomline with the small change I put my wifi to the max. @ sam_nazarko may this is worthy a page on the wiki.

You should be able to set region in My OSMC.

Keep in mind that Pi 4 WiFi is not going to give amazing results and for any serious watching ie 4K, you’ll want to use an Ethernet cable on this device.

Can you give me an hint where?

The PI is not that bad max seems to be 433 Mbit up/down with 5Ghz

There is CRDA option in My OSMC → Network.

Things must have improved then – did you get this result via iperf, or are you reading the spec sheet of the SDIO bus…?

I am talking about real-world performance with the antenna on the board…

I get this results from my router, the router shows me with what speed the clients really connected over wifi

May I getting blind but I don’t see it, can you picture me the way
