Maybe as only audio played on that attempt as it wouldn’t sync.
powered usb hub. plays fine on tv and xbox so wouldn’t have thought that’s the issue.

What we’re after is a clip from the actual video that’s giving you problems. Feel free to PM me like you have before.
doh! This should be it Microsoft OneDrive
Thanks but that clip says
Frame rate mode : Variable
Frame rate : 9 604.148 FPS
and it’s very short. Can you make sure however you made it isn’t messing about?
It was trimmed with ffmpeg which is usually pretty reliable.
I can share the whole file of 2gb or the nzb if you can download.
If you can copy about 100MB with dd
it should arrive unscathed. And comply with fair use policy
here you go - about 5 mins. I’ll attach log from ffmpeg too: Microsoft OneDrive

Can it be OneDrive that’s messing with it?
Although this is what I get in kodi.log and it’s playing at 50Hz

can stick it somewhere else if you have a suggestion?
Try the share we were using for DV samples. I can PM the URL if you’ve lost it.
Done. Will pm you the link to the file
Noticed the same issue on my Vero V with a newest trending series. It’s a uhd 25hz material, other 23.9 material plays flawlessly. I whitelisted all the modes except 50hz and the results are better but I don’t think they are 100% solved. Tried Planet Earth (25hz) which sometimes plays with hiccups and sometimes normally… No dropped/skipped frames in any case. Weird
Played Planet Earth with blacklisted 50hz modes, noticed a few hiccups in the first minute or so:
Log: https://paste.osmc.tv/eziyaveged
For the record, I grabbed the clip @pinn73 provided and it played perfectly at 50Hz. If we can’t reproduce the problem, we will struggle to fix it. I should say, my Veros are pretty much vanilla - no addons other than tvheadend, media files mounted by autofs, stock OSMC skin.
Which modes have you whitelisted?
If I whitelist 1080/50, it plays at 4k/50 and is okay apart from the recap at start of ep where it’s as jerky as all hell.
Ok I found an interesting thing, it has to do something with the subtitles enabled… I get a hiccup when a subtitle is displayed on screen but doesn’t happen 100% of the time… Just tried Planet Earth and two hiccups occured when the subtitle popped twice on screen… Tried with disabled subtitles and the hiccups were gone…
Edit: most definitely has to do something with the subtitles in my case. Did a few more tries with them enabled and disabled and were no hiccups with them disabled. Every time the video was started from the kodi from scratch, no rewinds.
Edit2: the hiccups are gone with the subtitles enabled if I rewind the video to the start and let it play again. Tested multiple times. No idea what’s going on.
That’s useful, thanks.
That’s odd. Are you sure?
I can now reproduce stuttering when playing your clip at 1080p25Hz. But at 1080p50Hz it’s smooth as butter, even after the main title comes up.
If I whitelist everything (including 1080p50 and 4k50) it plays at 1080p50.
Sorry, misspoke. If I blacklist it I meant
Is that with double refresh rates enabled?
yes. For testing, I’m just selecting the resolution from the OSD while playing the file. But with double refreshrates on, those will always be chosen.
