3D Frame Packed output

If it were up to me (and I’m sure you’re very grateful that it isn’t up to me  but if it were) I would consider releasing a new beta build every time I was reasonably sure one more issue had been locked down. You’ve got a lot of keen beta testers who are willing to work pro bono, here - that’s a resource you may as well take advantage of. Plus, it would shut us up, which is perhaps more important.

There is no benefit in releasing a new build at this time and users wouldn’t see any improvements yet, despite under the hood changes.

When we need further testing and have significant changes and improvements we will update this post.

Here is the Kodi Wiki sample #2 with NTSC removed from the stream’s VUI. Check whether this makes any difference in playback. I haven’t checked the playback.

3D MVC ISO Sample #2

You have a 4K 3D capable projector, right? The test pattern result is relevant only for 1080p displays.

Will check it later, thanks!

I can confirm that sample doesn’t work properly.

I too confirm that the sample stutters like the other NTSC files.

Can someone confirm that “Edge of Tomorrow” doesn’t work with the latest testbuild?

My mkv of Edge Of Tomorrow works fine on latest test build - I’ve skipped through and checked various scenes.

Quite strange behaviour. Mostly works properly but in some scenes, specially when skipping chapters, it does stutter.

Watched the whole movie. No problems at all. Never paused it or skipped.

I’ve asked this question on the support forum but no answers as yet. Does OMSC / Vero 4k+ support zoom of 3D (Frame Packed/HSBS/HOU) videos without distortion? My apologies if this is the wrong place to ask but this seems to be where all the 3D experts are!

What would you expect to do to activate that?

The zoom (can zoom out) or other aspect modes do not work in 3D modes or when playing in 2D mode. UHD no longer able to zoom in either but might be due to the beta?

angry.sardine - I use the zoom function within video settings available when watching a video

Marsdus -That’s disappointing. I’m using an Kodi V16 on windows and zoom works perfectly. It also used to work using OpenElec on a Pi but has never worked within LibreElec on a C2 Odroid. I was hoping it would work on the Vero 4K+. I’d asked about UHD zoom (which also does not work on LibreElec/C2) and was told on the support forum that this works OK so perhaps as you suggest it has been broken with the beta. Looks like I will have to continue to use the TV zoom function but it’s a real pain adjusting for Kodi OSD and subtitles :frowning:

I have an Optoma UHD51A, which is 4K-capable, but it plays 3D in 1080p.

Why would you zoom into the picture it makes absolutely no sense and majorly degrades picture quality if done the way you do it

@mattmarsden, @ragico, @Marsdust thanks for testing! I was told that the latest beta can’t handle this movie at all (was described as “wrong stereo effects” and flip eyes doesn’t change anything etc.). So it looks like that this specific copy of the movie might be the problem.

Good question. But nonetheless, I’ve put this issue on my TODO list.

Or he is actually on the first testbuild where you can’t flip eyes rather than the latest one
