3D Frame Packed output

Thank you Sam. That is very nice.

Has the stuttering issue been fixed yet?

Not for the 3.14 kernel. The 4.9 kernel will contain a fix.

An updated build has been pushed. Please see the initial post.

3D ISO may well be working now but you seem to have broken 3D m2ts playback in the process. :frowning:

Will check that.

Hey Sam,
I know you guys were originally targeting end of December for the new update. Any ETA now?

I pushed an update today.
See the original post.

Sam

Thanks Sam, the Iso playback of 3d content works fine. But I really missed the correct function of the vertical shifting for 3D.iso or 3D.mvc.mkv files. When I shift the image to the bottom of my projector screen, then the picture pulled apart. Before the Vero 4K I had a raspberry pi 3 with osmc installed and the vertical shifting of 3D content works well without this image problem.

Hey Sam,
I’m confused. I was under the impression that 3D was moving into the official non-testing builds with the next release. Has that been sidelined?

I’m very excited for this functionality, but after years of messing with this stuff I always wait till the official release for media playback software.

This seems to be a bug, I’ve added it to my TODO list.

3D MVC support will only become part of a stable build when it is ready.

Fair enough!

Do you need logs or a sample video for that, Sam?

It appears that this is broken by an ffmpeg update in Kodi.

Hi everyone,

I’ve just finished setting up my new Vero 4k+ but I’m struggling with frame packed playback from iso. All my sbs files play great.

I would be grateful if someone could take a look at my log file and see if there is something obviously wrong.
I’m going through a Marantz 6012 AVR into an Epson TW9300 projector. I used to use a HTPC with Power DVD to play my frame packed files so I know the hardware can manage it.

I think we need an Emby expert here. All I can see are demuxing errors:

For me it looks like the emby server sends the video in a format that Kodi doesn’t understand.

I’ve just remuxed Alita from the iso and it’s playing back perfectly so it must be an iso issue. Maybe my emby server has an issue with playing back from iso. I’ve only got a few 3d films so I’ll just remux them all.

Really chuffed with the box, I’ve gone from HTPC to Nvidia Shield to Zidoo Z9s and finally the Vero 4K+

Would an mkv work? Making one from iso with MakeMKV is pretty trivial. Not sure how much effort remuxing is.

Oh, I’m using emby, too. I’d prefer native playback instead of their streams, but I do like multi versions so I don’t have duplicate entries for 3D and non-3D movies.
