Hello,

If i’m not wrong using osmc with raspberry pi 3 dolby atmos won’t work right? I had another media player (wdtv) and everything wored it auto detect dolby atmos. If there is a limitation only with raspberry then is it going to work if I buy Vero 4k ? Thanks

Hi guys! I updated my home cinema with Atmos speakers. Now I tried to get some trailers to hear my new cinema sound with my Denon x4200 - won´t work. I get no atmos or DTS:X Signal from the Vero to my AVR. I also tried to play the files via my PC (VLC) to my AVR - everything works. I´m on it a few hours but can´t get this issue solved. Can anyone help me in this case why I get no Atmos via Vero 4K to my AVR? PS: I´m on the latest FW.

Does Kodi on RB supports Dolby Atmos?

If not, any plans to support it soon ?

As you already imagined, this depends on the workload on the device. IO bound operations should be much improved, as we now use eMMC storage. This provides really improved random write and read speed to the internal storage. Video decoding capabilities (VPU) are also very improved: hence 4K playback and support for 10-bit HEVC and VP9. It won’t work as the HDMI port of the Raspberry Pi 3 is limited to 24bit 48kHz 8 channels which doesn’t allow for HD audio bitstreaming (which requires a bandwidth of 24bit 192kHz 8 channels to work). Without HD audio bitstreaming there’s also no Atmos: it’s just metadata added to an HD audio stream - either Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Digital+.

The only device that supports this without problems is the Vero 4k.
