I have a had a very reliable PI1 which has worked reliable with no custom add-ons or any overclocking.
I did the December update and after a reboot had a black screen with no response to interaction. I pulled the power and rebooted into a range of filesystem issues that OSMC attempted to repair, which it seemed to do successfully. However, upon launch OSMC was pretty flaky, with plenty of add-on errors and some icons missing from the MyOSMC screen. Performing an update didn’t work either. Essentially I appear to have had very similar issues as Issue after December update.
I managed to get logs ( http://paste.osmc.io/qiyogezufe ) however, after doing a clean SD (Nov) install, booting OSMC and doing Dec update and rebooting I’m back to a range of add-on errors upon launch, and an inability to launch any of MyOSMC, so unable to get to the log uploader GUI at all now.
From what I can tell November ver had been working fine, so I’ll revert to that for the time being.
If it’s SD card related I’m using a Strontium MicroSD 4GB Class 4 (01T23120017 SR4GTFC4R)
Hi,
I gave it a try (actually renamed the file instead of deleting it…) and made no difference to me.
After rebooting same errors about updates, manually checking updates doesn’t work and the Confluence skin is still corrupted.
Logs here: http://paste.osmc.io/heyaxogetu
Regards,
Daniel
Can you please be more specific than “a range of add-on errors”… vague details like that don’t help us figure out what’s wrong - please copy the exact errors or if possible take a photo of the errors as they appear.
Ok, I did another SD format and install with Nov, and then ran the Dec update, this time round I had an issue with no fonts showing up, and a bunch of dialogs too that I assume have the same add-on errors as before, except this time there are no words to share.
I’ll upload a video of the reboot after update, and I can still SSH and gather logs, which I have done at http://paste.osmc.io/opekacaruh
Of note the first thing I see at reboot is a warning that the HTTP get time request appears to be taking too long - you can see it top right in the video I’ll share.
Before reinstalling I wanted to make a last test and I powered off the RPI (not only reboot, but disconnect and reconnect the power cable). After that, I was able to run the manual update without errors in the MyOSMC menus. It did find an update and executed it. No problem either.
The errors in the logger went almost gone except for some related to add ons. Looking in the add ons menu I saw that there was an orphan dependency for the Open Weather add on so I totally uninstalled it rebooted.
Now I cannot see more errors in the loggers. Only the Confluence skin is still corrupted. All the fonts are invisible until I bring the focus on them.
Can someone tell me how to reinstall the Confluence skin? In the add ons menu I can find it but no option to uninstall or reinstall it.
Just checked. I cannot uninstall confluence either.
Mybe you cannot uninstall it as it is the shipped default. Can you uninstall it when choosing a different skin before?
