systemctl stop mediacenter
systemctl stop eventlircd
systemctl stop system-lircd_helper.slice
irrecord -f -d /dev/lirc0 configname.conf
Follow the instructions 
rm lircd.conf
ln -s /etc/lirc/configname.conf lircd.conf
shutdown -r now
