Will Vero Next have an optical audio port?

I have a little device that splits audio off of HDMI outputs with full channel optical possible … or bone head stereo. Can’t remember how long, but probably over 10 yrs. Can’t imagine it was more than US$50. I needed it to split the audio and video to support an older receiver and projector.

Of course, having toslink out directly from the device is much better.

Time to find out who the biggest gossip on the team is.

Vero V? one will be mine for sure

Thanks for packing up my order first, Sam. Appreciate it.

What is the speculated general time frame for the new Vero will be publicly available? Just curious on a vague ball park on that.

No problem. Wasn’t used to the weight so dropped it a few times but it still works OK.

You could be a politician :joy:

So how about telling us what the SoC is, Sam?

Can the new unit be named… “Son of Sam”?

Is the new Vero between 0% and 25% larger by volume than the current Vero 4K?

It’s actually about double the size. We chose form over function.

Does it come in pink?

It’s an S905X4-O (OSMC requested customisations). We started Vero V late 2018 with X2, then jumped to X3 and settled on X4.

COVID and chip shortages were a pain.

Oh yes…?

I’m hoping for a special edition with custom graphics…

Ciao Sam,
may you briefly advise about new features of S905X4-O vs. the current one?
Thank you

This comparison of should give you some idea of the perfromance differences between the SoCs used in the 4K+ (S905D) and the ‘V’ (S905X4) - although I am not an authority on this, and it doesn’t include the bespoke ‘O’ customisations for OSMC.

A more discreet Led?
Can be switched on and off?
More internal memory? (My 4K+ suffers with almost 80% of memory used)
Can I place a pre-order?

It seems that the S905X4 supports eMMC only. I was hoping for support for m.2 nvme ssd.
