It has been discussed on the forum a lot that fast forward and rewind are something that is there, but requires massive buffering, depending on the bitrate of a file, of course… So, it will mostly not work properly.
As advised by @Tom_Doyle , skipping forward and backwards is the way to go
Rewind and fast forward don’t work mostly as it requires lots of throughout in your network and extensive buffering… Especially with higher bitrate files this will cause problems.
Better use skipping with the arrow keys of the OSMC remote. That should resolve issues related to rewind/fast forward.
I didn’t announce a fix for this issue in this update because there isn’t one at this time unfortunately.
I don’t have a solution for this – at least not at this time. It seems to be an issue with Kodi’s VideoPlayer + AML implementation (so affects all devices)
For now, just skip as suggested above.
If a solution is found, I will update this thread.
Not long had my 4K…i only use it to play movie files from a HD and it works great…When i fast forward a movie it is fine,But i cannot rewind a movie…it just freezes and says “buffering” so i have to stop the movie and then fast forward to the part i want from the beginning…Any tips would be nice.
